Founded in 1981, the Katy Area Rescue School exists to provide knowledgeable training in the all areas of vehicle extrication and rescue. The Katy Area Rescue School has become a nationally recognized vehicle extrication school attracting students not only from all over the state of Texas but also from all over the United States and as far away as Canada.
Held every year over the second full weekend of November in Katy, Texas, the Katy Area Rescue School offers both a basic course (Vehicle Rescuer Level I) and an advanced course (Vehicle Rescuer Level II). Over the weekend, beginning with the Orientation held on Friday evening through the Field Training on Saturday and Sunday, the firefighter currently receives 19 course hours of instruction and training.
Everyone involved with the Katy Area Rescue School is committed to providing affordable training that is knowledgeable, accurate and current in all areas of vehicle extrication and rescue so that all firefighters have the opportunity to receive the training they need to effectively save the lives of those in their communities.
